CHICKEN BAND…Sort of like the Rolling Stones but with more moss…

Hi World,

Hope your weekend is going well.

My Sister-in-law has been visiting from the other side of the country for the past week and on her last night in town we got together for a little take out and family time.

After reminiscing over 3 million old family photos and filling up on great Italian , which you can find in abundance in our little state of Rhode Island, but not so much where she lives, and Pinot Grigio, which you can find in abundance and for cheap cheap cheap where she lives but not as much here, we were winding down.

Littleb, however, had a different plan.  He felt the evening should end on a musical note.  First he dragged out all of his stuffed animals to form an audience.  And then he went through his toy box and carted out all of his instruments, which he then distributed.

And the Chicken Band was thereby formed and will most likely be showing up in a small, intimate club near you sometime soon.

We need a little time to perfect our unique sound so please be patient.

But in the meantime, let me introduce the members of the band:

littleb (aka badb)  Lead singer

Lead Guitarist BigB (Aka BigDaddy)
Drums and Kazoo/Piano:  The Aunties (Aka Jumpin Jack Jane and Annie Bananny)
And on Accordian, Nana (Aka Nana the Great)
And joining in for a special rendition of Jailhouse Rock, Chicken (aka the photographer)

Let us know what your favorite tunes are.  We’ll be taking requests soon.

Take care,

Chicken out

Do you do heavy metal? I'd quite like to see some head banging.

And then you could legitimately destroy some instruments if you wanted to …

Perhaps some Pearl Jam or better yet, something off of “The Joshua Tree” album. U2 at their finest.

    Beautiful family, Chicken.

All great suggestions, Ladies-we will add them to the lineup. Head banging generally happens around here without any intention at all, Mrs. P, so you are in luck. GND, we should get them together-we don't have a tamborine but we do love the Indigo girls. Thanks all.

Hi Scrappy-I just listened to that song all the way through the other day for the first time. I loved it. Completely the way I grew up and I had kind of forgotten.

Sorry. Didn't mean to singe your nose hair. Ok, once LittleB goes to bed, you can skip Max & Ruby and rock this one instead.

hi CB-yes, it was one for the family history books. GG-that's ok. Totally worth it. Love the Flying or Falling song and was not familiar with this band. Thanks for tuning me in!

They've been around for a while – under the radar. I heard her on WCLZ last year (Slogan: “Different is Good”), and chanted “Grace Potter, Grace Potter” all the way home, so I wouldn't forget the name, and could check out her stuff. She draws the inevitable comparisons to Janis – check out “treat me right” – and you know I Lurve me some Janis. I think they are poised to go big time, now. Falling or Flying was featured on Grey's Anatomy, and she does a fantastic version of “white rabbit” on the Tim Burton version of Alice that just came out.
