Mary Ann, Come Get Your Bird

I woke up to the call of a persistent bird.  “Mary ANN….Mary ANN……Mary ANN”.  Whoever Mary ANN is, she’s in trouble…I keep waiting for the bird to say Mary ANN MARIE WALKER SMITH HOOLIGAN, GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE RIGHT NOW AND DON’T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE AND GET YOU.  But so far, it’s just Mary ANN.

Mary Ann,  I think you can salvage this relationship and perhaps I could get a few more minutes of sleep if you would just come get your bird.  Don’t make me come find you.

Hah! Sounds like it might be better than the crows and their mouths that we get here at five o’clock in the a.m. 🙂 P. S. What bird says “Mary Ann”? I don’t think we have those here.

Hi Jenny-I don’t know. I was hoping you would know. I was half asleep but it sounded like Mary ANN to me.

Not a bluejay by any chance? That’s the only bird call I know that comes close. Their call is quite metallic as well. It reminds me of a squeaky spring in a car.

These days the Little Brown Bird Brigade is usually going full-tilt outside of my window when I wake up, but none of them seem to be shouting names at me. Although, since Mary Ann was the name of my first girlfriend when I was twelve, if they started shouting her name at me I would probably wonder what they were trying to tell me…

Well, Doug, could you FB MaryAnn and tell her to come get her damn birds? And don’t worry about your little bird brigade. Your LBBB reminds me of Bob Marley song.

Sorry, not on Facebook, but if I run into her I’ll tell her to get on it, stat.
