Not Gone Yet

Dear all,

Just touching base. I’m sorry I haven’t been by all your blogs lately. I started a new job a few months ago. It’s a long commute with a new company and a new hotel brand. It’s been a steep learning curve. Pair that with littleb’s spring sports schedule, my grandkids, and other family obligations and, well, there’s not much “me” time left over. If I have it, you can generally find me on the couch, glass of wine in one hand, remote in the other, except I’m trying to lose weight so the glass of wine is wishful thinking most of the time. I hope you’ve all been well-I do think of you even if you haven’t heard from me-and I’ll be by for a visit soon.  Plus, I know there are more stories in me somewhere. You can email me, if you’d like:

I’m so glad you posted, Chicken. You have been missed.

A new job sounds like a lot of change and I’m not good with change, so I’m fretting on your behalf. Even if you’re not fretting. This is probably the busiest your life will get, and at some point, it will likely get a lot quieter. I felt like I had no time to myself when our kids were growing up. For a person who functions best with some or a lot of alone time, it was hard. It was worth it, but it was hard. Hang in there.

Thanks Jenny:-) I will. Sports are winding up and I’ll have more time in the next few weeks to get back on track with my blogging buddies!

I’m proud! a grandma with a new job with a big learning curve! You go! I’m learning how to use Amazon’s fire as if it were a tablet. I may succeed. You are the first experiment!

Hi Joanne-thanks-you’re a mentor in the “never stop learning” movement! I actually checked back in because I remembered you were planning a northeast trip. I wanted to see if I could assist. I stopped by your blog, quickly, and it looks like plans have changed? It sounds like you’ll have a great summer regardless but if you come my way let me know!

    Yay! The Chicken posted again!
New jobs are like that, aren’t they? Even ones that should be a snap take a while before you have them down to your routine, and your confidence seeps back in. Or at least that’s the way it always felt to me.
Anyway, I hope it’s evening out for you and you get some time for yourself soon.

So happy to see you pop up on my sidebar. I’ve been waiting. You’ve been busy. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself –I can’t do it for you, but I can drink half a glass of wine while you drink the other (2 glasses, otherwise awkward). Main thing is remember to relax in your own best way and wrap our best wishes around you.

Oh Geo-you know me so well. You drink a half a glass and I drink two glasses, that’s what you said, right? Thank you:-)

Thank you, Lisa. These times do come in waves. I know soon I’ll be on an upswing blogging-wise. I just realized today that my youngest is almost 12. Pretty soon, for the first time in over 30 years, I will have a certain degree of freedom. Imagine that!
